The Slavic settlement is first mentioned in 1207. It stood on the right bank of the Bystřice river and was protected only by ramparts. Today there is a cemetery in these places with the originally Romanesque church of St. Jacob the Elder. The elevation of the settlement to a town occurred in 1331. It was built on a new site and is today the historical core of the town. In 1434, the island was mortgaged to Kašpar Šlik. At this time, mining was done here…
