The Lomnické cemetery, located in the northwestern part of the town, is the final resting place of the well-known painter Bohumír Matal (1922-1988), who devoted himself to painting with the themes of man and the city, civilization and industrialization. He became the last and youngest member of Group 42. He was among the significant representatives of Brno's post-war painting of the 20th century.
