            At the place where the now built lookout stands after the reclamation of the mine, there once stood the settlement of Liptice, whose origins date back to around 1209, when it belonged to Rýzmburk Castle in Osek. In the 16th century, Liptice belonged to the Ossetian monastery and later to the town of Duchcov.
