The Renaissance castle in Lipník nad Bečvou was built in the 16th century by the Bruntálský family from Vrbno, who owned the local estate at that time. Hynek st. Bruntálský from Vrbno bought the land, but priority was given to the completion of the rebuilding of the castle palace in Helfštýn. After his death, the construction of the castle was carried out by his son Jiří Bruntálský from Vrbno, until 1609.
