The first mention of the church in Měník dates from 1384. At that time, this wooden church was dedicated to St. Václav and his original patrons used to be Měničtí from Červená Ves (also from Červeněvsi). After the Thirty Years' War, it was replaced in 1686 by a new building (according to some sources, it was already built around 1660), but from the same material.
