Church of St. Prokop, Chyšky

One of the dominant features of the village of Chyšky is the church dedicated to Saint Prokop, one of the Czech saints and protectors of the Czech land, the patron saint of miners.
This old parish church was probably founded in the 11th century and was originally built in the Romanesque style. As its dedication to St. Procopius testifies, this is a very old church. The reason for the dedication was gold mining, which took place in the vicinity of the village in the Middle Ages.
