Mount Říp is a mountain visible from afar (456 m above sea level), more precisely a basalt mound, with a Romanesque rotunda on top. It emerges from the Polabsk plain 5 km south of Roudnice nad Labem. There is a legend about the arrival of the great-grandfather of Bohemia related to Mount Říp. This makes it one of the basic symbols of the Czech nation since time immemorial.
