Starý Jičín Castle

Starý Jičín Castle was built on Starojické hill to guard the trade and amber trail. However, its exact date of origin is unknown. The first mention of it is from 1240, when it belonged to Arnold of Hückeswagen, who, however, did not have to build the castle. The location of the castle and the late Romanesque character of its tower suggest that the castle may have had a feudal origin and was only subsequently handed over to Arnold.
