Rožmberk Castle - meet the white lady

Rožmberk Castle stands on a rocky promontory above the Vltava River. The castle was founded in the first half of the 13th century by a member of the Vítkov family, Vok from Prčice, who then began to call himself Vok from Rožmberk. got its name from the five-leafed rose that the Rosenbergs have in their coat of arms.
 The current appearance of the castle was influenced by the Buquoyo family, who acquired the castle in the first half of the 17th century and held it until 1945.
