Choustník, a castle of the bergfrit type, grew in the westernmost part of the ridge with a number of significant rock massifs in the period before 1282, when it is first mentioned as the residence of Beneš of Choustník. The four-story prismatic tower was protected by a wall copying the perimeter of this rock formation. In its western part, a palace building was built on a floor plan of approx. 20x10m.
