Horní Moštěnice - grounds of the castle and park
The settlement of Moštěnice is mentioned in the chronicles as early as 1141, when the village belonged to the Přerov Archdeaconry. Once upon a time, the main road from Přerov to Velehrad led through Moštěnice, but through the surrounding marshes and wetlands, which was a problem. In order to make the ancient road passable, wicker stakes were used to strengthen it - mošti... and from them the name of the village was derived. It is interesting that the river flowing through the village…
