The Cistercian monastery in Osek – the pearl of the Ore Mountains

The first Cistercian monastery in the world was located in the Burgundian convent of Citeaux. This is also where the Cistercian Order was created by reforming the religious rules from the Benedictine Order. This happened sometime towards the end of the 11th century and the names are connected with it: Robert of Molesme and his follower St. Bernard.
 
It didn't take long for other Cistercian monasteries to be founded. One of them was also created in 1206 near the Saxon...
