Chrudim - Birthplace of JN Štěpánek

The originally Gothic, renaissance rebuilt town house with a classicist facade is located in Štěpánková street leading to Resselovo náměstí. Jan Nepomuk Štěpánek (1783–1783), a playwright and one of the directors of Prague's Provisional Theatre, was born in the house in 1844. The commemorative plaque, cast in the Chrudim foundry by F. Wiesner according to the design of the sculptor Jindřich Čapek from Prague, was unveiled at the house on October 5, 1879...
