Chrast - urban monument zone

The town of Chrast was founded in the second half of the 13th century by the Benedictine monastery in Podlažice and became its property until 1421, when the monastery was destroyed by the Hussites. The oldest written mention of the town dates from 1318. The other owners of the town and the entire estate became the Hussite governors and from 1452 the Kostkovs from Postupice.
