Chrast – Memorial plaque of Antonín Machek

The memorial plaque of the painter Antonín Machek, a native of Podlažice and an important Czech portraitist, is located in the west wing of the Chrastec castle in the corridor between the Chinese lounge, which he painted, and the Roman Hall, which he decorated with paintings of Roman buildings and medallions of ancient Roman politicians and philosophers. The plaque bears this text:
