Český Šternberk - PkP

Český Šternberk Castle stands above the river Sázava in Vlašimská pahorkatina. It was founded in 1241-42 by Zdislav from Divišov, later from Šternberk. In 1467, it was damaged during the conquest by the army of Jiří z Poděbrady, and was subsequently restored. In 1627 it was looted by rebellious peasants and then rebuilt in the Baroque style; further reconstructions took place in 1795. In 1841, the castle returned to the property of the Šternberks, who took it from the beginning of the 20th century. again…
