Český Šternberk, statue of St. John of Nepomuk.

The monument is somewhat secretive. It stands in the garden behind the bridge, on the right bank of the Sázava River. St. John is standing here in life size in a slight forward bend. What impressed me most about the statue is the material used. Shell limestone is said to have been used. It was not possible to find out whether this is the case, as there is no access to the statue itself. Under the statue is an octagonal plinth made of bricks and plastered.
