Česká Kamenice – church of St. Jacob the Elder

The ornament of the city center of Česká Kamenice is undoubtedly the Gothic-Renaissance church dedicated to St. to Jakub Starší (possibly older). The first mention of the building dates from 1352, apparently a church stood here already in the 13th century. In 1444, the church was destroyed during the conquest of the city. The oldest known building element is the western portal, today hidden under the tower.
A major reconstruction in the late Gothic style took place in the 16th century...
