Černý Štolpich, sometimes also called Velký Štolpich, springs at an altitude of 970 meters on the eastern slope of Holubník, one of the highest peaks of the Jizera Mountains. The length of the stream is 8,7 km, the average gradient is 73 per mile and the catchment area is 20 km2.
