Brandýs nad Orlicí - castle

The castle was founded before 1289 by Jindřich of Brandýs. Over the centuries it changed owners, the last family that owned it between 1559 and 1636 were the Žerotíns, after which it was abandoned. The castle had a bridgehead, Předhradí, a front and a back castle and was protected by three dry moats. To this day, the moats, the bush-covered foundation walls of the forecourt, several perimeter walls, the torso of the tower and the cellars of the castle...
