Bohumín - Vrbice, church of St. Catherine
Vrbice, now part of the town of Bohumín, was formerly an independent settlement and it is mentioned as early as 1229 (together with the part of Záblatí). In the course of time, it was merged with Pudlov or Bohumín for a while, to become an independent municipality again for a while. Its dominant feature, apart from the lake, is the brick Neo-Gothic church of St. Catherine of Alexandria and St. Jacob St. from 1911, which stands on the site of a former wooden church...
