Žulová, Frýdberk Castle, formerly Friedberg

Not much remains of the early Gothic castle of Friedeberg. Remains of the walls and a massive cylindrical tower have been preserved. It is the main dominant feature of Žulová.
You can walk here from Josefské náměstí (article) over a stone bridge. Originally, when the castle was built on the promontory above the stream, a wooden drawbridge led here. The current one dates from 1846 to lead to the church and cemetery that were built on the site of the former castle.
