The ruins of Volfštejna Castle.

Volfštejn is one of the oldest castles in the entire region. We can find it on the foothills of Vlčí Hory (704 masl), which is separated from the castle on the northern side by a moat cut in the rock. The castle was apparently built in the first half of the 13th century, as evidenced by the Romanesque portal on the tower. Interestingly, the first written account of the castle is linked to a murder. According to that, Ctibor from Volštein was murdered in 1316.…
