Jewish synagogue in Batelov

The synagogue in Batelov was built in 1794. It stood in the same place before, but together with the rest of the Jewish ghetto, it burned down in a big fire in 1790.
The last major structural modifications took place in 1825. Since then, the synagogue has had its classic appearance.
During the German occupation, the local Jewish community disappears. Most of the Jewish population is taken to concentration camps, from where they never return.
