Castle in Bystřice nad Úhlavou.

A fortress originally stood in the place where the castle is today. The first written mention of it was in 1339. It was apparently a partially wooden building. It was rebuilt in the Gothic style in 1440. The seat was enlarged only in 1490, when it is written about the Bystrica Castle. Sometime towards the end of the 16th century, perhaps as early as the 17th century, the castle was rebuilt into a Renaissance castle. Several…
