A sunny spring morning directly beckons for a trip, so we quickly decide to visit a castle or chateau. The choice finally falls on Chlumec nad Cidlinou, where we get off at exit 62 on the Prague-Hradec Králové route. The East Bohemian town at the confluence of the Cidlina and Bystřice rivers is dominated by the baroque castle Karlova Koruna, which was built by František Ferdinand Kinský.
