Slunečná straň is a declared natural monument above Dolní Maršov (Svoboda nad Úpou) and at the same time below Kraví vrch. This is a location of bog and peat meadows, where a number of nationally endangered plant communities have been preserved. In addition, endangered animal species are also found here.
