The Kocour valley near Jílové u Prahy is spanned by the second highest railway bridge in Europe. Its height is 41,73 m, so it is only less than a meter lower than the Nuselský most. 
The viaduct was built between 1898 and 1899, and the first train passed through it on May 1, 1900. Since then, it has been in continuous service without major repairs. It is built from coarse-grained granite that comes from nearby quarries. They were working on the construction…
