Třeboň – church of St. Jilji and the Virgin Mary Queen and the Augustinian monastery

Monastery of the Order of St. Augustina in Třebon was founded in May 1367 and is still one of the most important monuments of the city. Simply put, it can be said that it was created by the Rožmberks from the building of the local rectory. However, the original parish church is much older and was first mentioned in 1280. The current one was built only in the last quarter of the 14th century. Even the very brief history of the monastery is varied.…
