It was built in the years 1651-55 on the site of the former cemetery, which was located around the church of St. Jakub. It served the Jesuit order for a total of 119 years before it was abolished in 1776. After that, the building was used as a barracks for almost a hundred years, and since 1883 it has been used for school purposes.
