The first mention of the village dates from December 23, 1408, when Hynek from Náchod, otherwise from Adršpach, sitting on Červený Hora, gave the church in Červený Kostelec an annual interest of 1 heap of Prague groskie for the soul of Špaček, "so that on every dry day an aniversarium and officium of three lessons were held".
