Smrčina - Natural monument

PP Smrčina (1,2031 ha) is located 1,5 km east of Sobotín in the ridge of Mount Smrčina. It protects an important mineralogical site - a large abandoned pit quarry near Sobotínská chata. A largely extracted occurrence of a unique talc rock - krupník, accompanied by chloritic, actinolitic and talc slate. Mining took place here until the beginning of the 20th century.
