The first written reports about the village date from 1335, when it belonged to Jeruši from Aušperk, a member of the Doubravne monastery, who donated it to the monastery. It is located at the foot of the Horní les massif. The dominant feature of the village is the baroque church of St. Martin. The memorable Rovečín linden tree stands near it.
