Rosice - At the dead
For the dead, there is a place in the fields about 2 km southwest of Rosice that served as a burial ground for French, Russian and Austrian soldiers who died of cholera during the Napoleonic Wars. Dead soldiers were brought here from the infirmary in the riding stables of Rosice Castle. The mass grave of soldiers, in which 700 to 1000 bodies lie, is reminiscent of a stone monument with a cross and a military helmet, which was erected in 1911...
