Římov is an important South Bohemian pilgrimage site. It is located about 14 km south of České Budějovice on the course of the Malše River at an altitude of 480 m. Its history dates back to the 10th century, but the importance of the village only increased with the construction of the Stations of the Cross in the second half of the 17th century.
The first mentions of the village from 1383 refer to Upper Římov. In 1395, the original fortress is already mentioned in Dolní Římov. In 1626…
