A walk through the historic center of Hranice

The historic center of the city of Hranice has been protected as a city monument zone since 1992. The original fortification built in the years 1292 - 96 was primitive, perhaps a rampart. Under the Cimburks in the middle of the 15th century, the inner fortification wall was built, after 1475 it was supplemented by a second outer belt of walls made of quarried stone with bastions. The entrance was guarded by three gates, there were also several wickets. Almost all of it has survived to this day...
