Přerov city fortifications

The medieval walls, built of quarried stone - travertine, were created in the second half of the fifteenth century under the Pernštejn family. The fortification surrounded the entire Upper Town with the market square and consisted of a wall, two gates, a small gate for pedestrians (fortna) and ten bastions. In front of the inner wall there was still a fence wall protected by a moat.
