Monument to smugglers near Kvilda

On the way from Kvilda to Borovová Lada, near the village of Františkov, behind the bridge over the Tepła Vltava, there is a small monument to the smugglers about 100 meters from the road. The place where the monument stands was once the path "Canal 54" to Kilián Nowotny, a German from Šumava who transferred Czech citizens after February 1948 .On the monument there is an inscription in Czech and German: FREE-THINKING CITIZENS LEFT THEIR COUNTRY BY THIS PATH AFTER FEBRUARY 1948...
