There is perhaps no village in our country, with a few real exceptions, whose development was not marked by the First World War, when many local men laid down their lives on the front lines or subsequently in hospitals. Even Rožnov, a small village near Jaroměř, which is sometimes confused by some with the distant and much larger Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, gave 1 of its men to the altar of the homeland.
