Poleň is an ancient town located on a hill above the Poleňka river. It can be found approximately 9 km northwest of Klatov. Its core is spread over the highest point of the hill. A fortress stood there, of which there is no trace today. But there are still two Gothic churches standing there today. The larger, formerly the Church of the Mother of God, today All Saints, stands opposite the rectory. Behind it lie the ruins of the church or chapel of St. Markets.…
