Poděbrady-Marian column

The torso of the monument can be found in the park under the road from Poděbrady to Prague by the way to the Havířské church. It is the remains of the Marian column, a prismatic pedestal with a Latin inscription, which reminds of the serious threat to the city in 1757. After the battle of Cologne, the defeated Prussian King Bedrich fled Bohemia with the rest of his troops and reached the vicinity of Poděbrady, where there was a small Prussian garrison, who guarded her warehouses…
