The beginnings of the volunteer theater in Jaroměř

According to various indirect evidence, a theater was performed here already in the 18th century, if not even earlier, but the first documented volunteer performance took place only on October 6, 1819, when volunteers from Jaroměr performed the theater play "Truth's reward", in honor of the local dean P. Vojtěch Procházky, who was honored by the emperor for his merits, of which we should mention especially his great generosity to poor people...
