The medium-sized wine-growing village with more than seven hundred inhabitants, located near Uherské Hradiště, did not get its name from the excessive occurrence of hazel trees, but its name is derived from the fruits of hazel bushes. The village was mentioned for the first time in 1131. During the reign of Kateřina from Doloplaz, a widow sitting on the Nojovsk fortress, it was a small village with at most forty buildings. They all stood in the part of the village today called Dědina...
