Olšany is a foothills village and can be found under the wooded slopes of the Jeseníky peaks, in the valley of the Morava River and the Bušínské Stream and westward from the town of Šumperk. The settlement of Klášterec is part of the municipality and together they have 1150 inhabitants. Olšany is located along the road leading from Šumperk to Červená Vody.
