Nové Mlýny - memorial to the drowned coffin children
The village lies on the main route between the towns of Mikulov and Hustopeče. The original ford across the river Dyji was passable only at low water levels and therefore a ferry was built here at the end of the 19th century. However, a tragic event took place here on May 26, 1936. In the morning of this day, a large group of children accompanied by a teacher from nearby Rakvice set off on a school trip to Pálava.
