The town of Strážnice is located in the center of the Slovácko region on the very border with the Slovak Republic. The first written mention of the town dates back to 1302. The Strážnice manor was successively occupied by three noble families - the lords of Kravař, Žerotín and Magnis. It was a guard city, around which a thorough fortification was gradually built.
