The town of Sobotka and the dean's church of St. Mary Magdalene

The late Gothic church was built on the site of an older wooden tabernacle (probably from the 14th century) in 1590–1596.
 
In the second half of the 19th century, major structural modifications took place. First the chapel was demolished and then they lowered the height of the tower. After the collapse of the vault in 1885, further modifications were undertaken by Josef Mocker, a well-known but for many controversial Czech architect.
