Lomnice nad Popelkou - plague column

One of the dominant features of the center of Husova náměstí is the 9,51m high Plague Column. It was built out of gratitude that in 1913 "God protected the town of Lomnica". The sculpture is formed by a central column with a Corinthian capital on which stands the statue of the city's patroness, the Virgin Mary Lomnicka. On the balustrade around the column there are statues of 4 saints, St. Rosalie, St. John of Nepomuck, St. Sebastian and St. Lawrence. The work is apparently work…
