Lobkowicz castle and Romanesque castle

At the end of the 12th century, the bishops of Prague had a Romanesque castle built on a rocky promontory above the Elbe river. It was expanded during the Gothic period. In the 16th century, the Renaissance wing was added and later the entire complex was expanded. In the years 1652-1684, under Václav Eusebius of Lobkowicz, the castle complex was rebuilt in an early Baroque style, which is preserved to this day. The castle consists of three wings around…
