Letohrad is located in the foothills of the Orlické Mountains on the river Tichá Orlice. It is located in a beautiful valley and is surrounded by unspoiled nature.
Until 1950, the city was called Kyšperk. The first records date from the beginning of the 14th century. The greatest development took place in the 17th century. Count Hynek Jetřich Vitanovský had a baroque castle and a new church built on the site of the former burnt down one.
